Man, 25, listed in stable condition in London critical care unit

A St. Marys man who was seriously injured during a downtown street brawl early Saturday morning was reported in stable condition in a London hospital Monday.

Perth County OPP said the 25-year-old was still in the critical care unit.

A storefront window was broken in the altercation, which appeared to have involved a large number of people after bars and a beer tent associated with the St. Marys Heritage Festival had closed.

Police described the incident that occurred after 1:30 a.m. as ?a large disturbance? and said the crowd immediately dispersed when officers arrived and located the injured man lying on the sidewalk.

Const. Kees Wijnands said Monday police are still actively investigating the incident and are asking for information from the public.

There have been no arrests so far.
